PAVE AmeriCorps Wellness Program

Wellness Coaches support healthy activity and provide nutrition education to kindergarten through eighth grade students in conjunction with the Mustang Wellness Program. Engaging students not only with physical activity, but with nutrition education is believed to have a more profound, lasting effect on student attitudes about healthy lifestyles.

Wellness Coaches are busy all day! Before school, they implement physical activities like a walking club. During the regular school day, they support organized recess and P.E. activities, perform "brain breaks" during scheduled class times, and provide nutritional programming at lunch. After-school, Wellness Coaches support the afterschool intermural sports--volleyball, boys and girls basketball, archery, wrestling, and running club--throughout the year.

For more information about the program you may email Daphney Partridge or call the PAVE AmeriCorps office at  573-392-8060 ext. 1542.
